How Does Cannabidiol (CBD) Help Homeostasis?

And What Is Homeostasis Inside The Body. Understanding The Science Of Cannabinoids.

What Is Homeostasis In The Body?

Homeostasis clinical Definition Found Here,

I am going to explain Homeostasis using a simple metaphor about computers.  A whole computer is referring to the body of a human or Pet.  Here we go.

Inside your computer is a bunch of “parts” that make it function.   Those parts are called “Hardware”.  Motherboard, Fan, Chips, ect.

Once you power, you see it’s running optimally and you’ll have many “programs” in which to do the tasks you need to do.   Those programs are called “Software”.  Microsoft Windows, Anti-Virus, Video Editor, ect.

In this analogy,  The human brain is the hard drive.  This is where all “software” programs are stored.

Not all software programs are the same when it comes to importance.  Some, simply function the back lighting or the screensaver specifically.  While others do much more like, keep the system safe from viruses, create a motion picture or even build a website.

There is one very important program, let’s call it the Endocannabinoid System or “ECS” for short.

Cannabinoids Like CBD Don’t Actually Fix You, CBD Simply Activates The Parts Of Your Body That Fix You.

The ECS belongs at the top of the list of importance.  This software monitors both hardware and software to maintain a proper balance (Homeostasis) between them.

ECS must always keep a balance between each piece of the computer both internal and external so that it stays running at it’s optimal levels. No mater the internal or external factors.

But ECS doesn’t do the work.  It activates and delegates out the responsibilities to the smaller software programs assigned to do the work.

The ECS program is designed to give balance to all other functions.  Especially when any issues that would hinder the ability for it to operate at its peak levels.

The Endocannabinoid System is the “software” inside you that regulates every aspect for proper balance. No matter what the internal or external factors are, it will activate specific functions within your body in order to find homeostasis (balance).

Let’s continue the analogy.

Let’s say, you’re new computer, and you choose not to activate an important part of the Homie Program during set up.  That function is called the ECS.

At first you’ll run fine.  But over time without the ECS activated, your hardware gets tired and less efficient, your files take longer to load and your start up takes forever.

All communication between all the millions of parts and functions starts to slow down, its signal is week, and that allows for more and more imbalance.

Homeostasis is biological, and The ECS syncs with all bodily functions and monitors all organs within the body.  A person who is out of Homeostasis is at risk for and linked to conditions like epilepsy, arthritis, glaucoma and Cancer.  Alzheimer’s has recently been added to this list.

Endocannabinoid System(ECS) to the rescue.  You realize the error and decide to activate the ECS by using an “oil” software program that must be installed daily.

The ECS is a group of two types of receptors called CB1 & CB2.  These receptors are found all throughout the body but the highest concentration of receptors reside in the Brain, Immune System, external organs and Central Nervous System.

These receptors act like a light socket to the cannabinoids.

But there is one problem with the ECS.  It’s a system that requires a cannabinoids for it to function at its peak.  It’s not free, and it has been dormant probably your entire life.

Homeostasis is aided by the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) when it gets off balance. The ECS system can not work to aid Homeostasis balance without Cannabinoids.  The most cost effective of which is Cannabidiol or CBD for short.

More About CBD And ECS.

Cannabidiol or CBD for short is the 2nd most prominent compound found in the Cannabis Sativa plant.  Just behind the infamous Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Unlike THC, Cannabidiol (CBD) has no psychoactive qualities.  This means you will not feel any euphoria or “High” from taking CBD.

You Will Not Feel “High”  From Using Cannabidiol (CBD).  Law Mandates For CBD Production Require Any Full Spectrum Cannabidiol Product To Contain Less Than .3 Percent Of THC.

The Endocannabinoid System(ECS) for most people and pets has been long dormant inside us due to laws that made CBD illegal up until the 2018 Agricultural Improvement Act.

This act of congress removed Cannabidiol(CBD) from the list of class 1 controlled substances.  This means that it is now legal to grow, produce, distribute and use cannabinoids like CBD as long as the THC level is less than .3%.

This is great news because researchers discovered the ECS due to the use of THC, and they learned that we are all deficient in Cannabinoids.

  1. Good article,

I really enjoyed reading this and the analogy that you linked with computers which did make it a lot easier for me to understand so greatly appreciated.

I never realised that I would be able to achieve homeostasis through using CBD Oil so this was really interesting to understand. Through this article I have a greater understand of my body, hormones and how I can achieve a healthier me. I have also changed my attitude to CBD Oil is especially if it is natural such as this one.

    Thank you

I am so excited that you enjoyed the cannabis education that you received from our post.  It makes me so happy that your attitude towards Cannabinoids and how CBD effects the body has changed.

I do suggest trying one of the products I have reviewed.  They are amazing.

  2. Hi Justin,

I am pleased to hear you have found a way to handle your injuries and you are well. I am no stranger to cannabinoids myself.

I am not able to partake in the way most people think because of the drug testing policies in my place of work.

I have discovered that you can benefit from the CBD with out in taking the THC.

This allows one to have all the natural benefits without worrying if you can pass a drug test.

I too use CBD for my pet. He has separation issues and freaks out when we leave him alone. The vet actually told me to start using CBD for this and it works. They even have products specifically for dogs.

Good post, keep putting up the fight. Maybe someday people will see the benefits and forget about the stereotype that surrounds the all natural helper.

    Thanks,

Yes, you can purchase Broad Spectrum (THC Free) products here.

I do suggest researching further on Full Spectrum CBD Oil Tinctures because studies have shown that when cannabidiol Oil is isolated, it removes all other compounds including Terpenes from the oil.

Because of this, THC free CBD oil has been shown to be less effect than Full Spectrum CBD Products that still have trace amounts of THC and Terpenes still in the mix. The reason is called the entourage effect.

The Terpenes and trace THC act as a catalyst, aiding the Cannabidiol (CBD) in it’s journey through the body until it arrives at its CB1 or CB2 receptor.  Then aids in the cannabinoids ability to fully bind to the receptor.

In short, Full Spectrum delivers better absorption and people will feel the results better.
